OpenRemote, prizing open automation and open source efforts

Yesterday OpenRemote was included by InfoWorld as one of the most relevant open source software applications in the current panorama. Bossie Awards 2012 have been given to a dozen of open software applications, some of them having to do with Multimedia and automation services.

As explained in a precedent post, SWAP networks can be integrated with OpenRemote via lagarto and HTTP commands. On the other hand, we are now working on a protocol extension for OpenRemote that will let this great application communicate with any lagarto server on an event-driven basis, without the need to periodically poll values from OpenRemote Controller. This addition will make OpenRemote work as any other lagarto client as part of the panStamp ecosystem.
